Residential

Radon is a radioactive gas of natural origin. It has no color, taste, and smell. Radon is formed during the natural radioactive decay of uranium. It presents in all types of rocks, soil and water.

Radon enters living quarters through cracks in the floor or leaks at the joints of floors and walls, unsealed technological holes around pipes or wiring passing through floors, pores in walls erected from hollow concrete blocks, as well as through drainage systems or sewers. As a rule, Radon concentrations are higher in basements.

The recommended radon action is 4.0 picoCuries per liter of air. The American Environmental Protection Agency claims that every 16 homes in the United States is at or above this level. Therefore, we recommend that you check your buildings for the level of radon action at least once every two years and, if necessary, immediately contact us.
